Paula Patrice, Founder & CEO
JRSY™ Girl Growers

On Building a Cannabis Startup: "First and foremost: be thoughtful in every business decision. The kiss of death in any startup is autopilot."

On Social Influence: "I don't want to influence people. I want to empower people to think for themselves."

On Craft Quality: "We grow cannabis that connects people to their culture, their community, and to a better version of themselves."

On Consumer Trust: "We built this facility for people who care about what they're consuming."

On Industry Standards: "We're not here to cut corners; we're here to set the standard."

On Authenticity: "When you don't let anything out, you're also not letting anything in."

On Walking Your Own Path: "You do not need anybody's permission to be you, to be new, or to be a new you."

On Women in Cannabis: "We're ending cannabis prohibition and pioneering an industry for many decades to come. I feel a great responsibility to represent women in this historic moment."

On Township of Ocean, Ocean County, NJ Municipal Permission: "I wasn't the biggest check or the flashiest pitch. I was the right fit."

On Purpose: "Sometimes our destiny is to perform an action not for ourselves, but for a greater purpose where we are needed at exactly that moment."

On What Cannabis Is To Me: Cannabis is my gateway to a healthier lifestyle. I'm not someone who lives without a crutch: no alcohol, no stress, no vices. More power to those people; they're not me. I need something to pull me back to earth when I can't get there myself, something to help me find a moment of peace. For me, that's cannabis. But only pure cannabis, because I know what it's like to be allergic to everything. Purity isn't a marketing term here. It's personal.

PP’s PERSONAL MISSION

  • After decades of being viewed through camera lenses and working behind computer screens, I learned something fundamental: we can't truly know our customers, or ourselves, when we operate in isolation.

  • When you don't let anything out, you're also not letting anything in. Real connection requires vulnerability. Real growth requires showing up authentically. And that may feel uncomfortable.

  • I'm not interested in influencing people; I'm interested in empowering people. There's a difference. Influence is about changing behavior to benefit you. Empowerment is about giving people permission to be authentically themselves.

  • You do not need anybody's permission to be you, to be new, or to be a new you.

  • We are all universally intertwined. My purpose on any given day might not be for my own gain; it might be to cross paths with someone who needs to hear what I have to say so they can continue down their path. We assume that every day is about our life, but what if some days we’re a pawn?

  • Sometimes our destiny is to perform an action not for ourselves, but for someone else who needed us at exactly that moment. That kind of openness, that selfless fluidity, that's where mind-bending growth happens that really feeds the depth of our soul.

  • I spent 25+ years as an international fashion model. When models became influencers, I walked away.

  • A woman-empowerment brand, built on land settled by religious radicals from my birthplace who believed in equality? That's not marketing jargon. That's my destiny.

I love craftsmanship, from haute couture fashion to hand-trimmed weed. Quality never goes out of style.

  • We're a licensed adult-use cultivation on the Jersey Shore, 20,000 square feet of purpose-built grow space, over a decade of nationwide expertise, and an uncompromising focus on craft quality. State-of-the-art systems, meticulous processing, and craftsmanship you can actually taste.

  • We built this facility for people who care about what they're consuming.

  • We grow cannabis with intention: small batches, meticulous care, and an obsession with safety.

  • We believe cannabis should be grown by people who actually love the product, the customer, and the community.

  • We're not here to cut corners; we're here to set the standard.

  • We grow cannabis that connects people to their culture, their community, and to a better version of themselves.

  • Our varietals come from traditional plant breeding, the same methods craft growers have used for generations. No genetic modification, no laboratory engineering, just careful selection and cultivation expertise.
